Support Palestinian Families

Each family on this page is in consistent communication with a member of the Narrow Bridge to Deir al Balah Collective. We offer fundraising support and we bear witness to both suffering and resilience. Being in touch with folks on the ground in Gaza is a transformative and humbling experience, we have been deeply moved by their graciousness and humanity. We work to prioritize monthly donations so that families have something they can rely on as they work to survive unimaginable conditions. If you are interested in forming or joining a team to support a Palestinian family, you can get involved here. Thank you for your support.

  • Afaf and Family

Over a year has passed since the genocide started, and Afaf and her family suffer more than ever, enduring the most unbearable conditions. They are surviving on canned and moldy food, infested with worms, as food is scarce and aid is not entering, causing them to suffer from stomach problems. Prices of food, medication, rent/tents, and other basic necessities are ridiculously expensive and keep increasing. With the winter now here, the days and nights are extremely cold and Afaf and her family do not have adequate clothing or blankets to keep warm.

On top of this, Afaf and her mother are sick and need treatment abroad.

Afaf and her family rely on your donations and generosity to survive. Your donations can help them secure these critical items, and even a small donation goes a long way. Sharing their story with friends, family, or on social media can also make a huge difference. Thank you for any way you can support Afaf and her family in this time of need. Your help is truly lifesaving.

  • Aloush, Iyad & Family

Aloush and Iyad and their three children, Lulu age 6, Amira age 4 and Ali age 3 are struggling to survive in a displacement camp in central Gaza. They are forced to rely on donations for food, medicine and other basic necessities. Right now, they are in need of blankets to survive the cold winter.

We calculate the cost of surviving in Gaza is about $500/week right now. (A bag of flour is $300, antibiotics are usually available for about $200, etc). We have a goal of raising $2000/month in recurring donations for Aloush and Iyad's family's basic needs.

With your help, Narrow Bridge to Deir al Balah can reach this goal and reduce the trauma and increase chances of survival for this family.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Dina and Family

Dina and her husband Farhan are a young married couple, and loving parents to their daughter Julia, age 4, and their son Ahmed, age 2. Ahmed has spent more than half of his life under the conditions of displacement and bombardment. He was 18 months old when he began to understand what the sound of artillery shelling was, and has since been terrified whenever he hears it. Dina and Farhan dream of a life where they can provide for everything their children need, and can begin a long process of healing from the traumas they have been forced to endure.

In the meantime, this family needs your help to survive. The costs of basic necessities like food, medicine, and blankets are exorbitant in Gaza right now, and there are no opportunities for income besides donations.

Our goal is to raise $2000/month in recurring donations, so that Dina and Farhan can be released from the suspense of wondering each week whether or not they will be able to feed their children. Giving them an income they can count is one of the only ways we can reduce the traumatic levels of uncertainty and stress from beyond the apartheid wall.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Esraa and Family

Before the war, Esraa and her husband Iyad ran a small poultry farm. They worked hard to secure a future for their two young sons, but their farm was targeted in an airstrike. They have been displaced numerous times.

Our goal is to raise $2,000/month on recurring donation for survival needs like food, medicine, and blankets for the winter.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Fatima & Roba

I‏ am Fatima, I live in Gaza. I used to live a beautiful and happy life. Everything was available and available at reasonable prices. This year was my last academic year in school, and then I was going to join the university, but the war destroyed everything and everything turned upside down. I had an ambition to study nursing at the university, but even universities and schools were not spared from these massacres and bombings. I graduated from the university two years ago and was working in the field of teaching, and I obtained the Azizi courses in some centers. I was also living a beautiful life, but the war came and everything ended and faded away. We write our story to you and we hope that you will help us start our ‏lives from scratch new

I will tell you my story because I want to travel and complete the last year of school, that is, in school, enroll in university, and achieve my dream of studying, and this is my right, like any person living in this world.

I reach out to you with humility and a deep sense of gratitude, and I hope you will empathize with your beacon of lens in our darkest hours.

Please consider donating to my family. ‏Thank you for taking the time to listen to our appeal, and for any support you can provide.

My children lacked the most basic necessities of life, such as healthy food, clean water, milk, and Pampers.

Since the beginning of this war 220 days ago, my family has been living in fear, struggle, humiliation, and hunger. They live under constant bombardment and air strikes all the time, and people are being killed everywhere. Our home have been damaged and uninhabitable

I can’t explain to you how awful is the tank’s bombs and the clashes, Gaza is a very small place, nowhere to run.

  • Hanadi and Family

Hanadi is a brave mother of 3 young children. Her youngest daughter, Kinda, was born seven months ago. Due to the scarcity of medical supplies imposed by the siege, Hanadi delivered Kinda via an unanesthesized cesarean section operation. She continues to endure pain from complications.

Baby formula and diapers cost at least $250/week. Another $250/week can buy water and food for the children. Hanadi's husband has a chronic condition which requires treatment - without which he has become significantly disabled.

We are setting an initial goal of $500/week in recurring donations to feed baby Kinda and her siblings.

Please donate to support Hanadi's family. They are counting on our support - every dollar makes a difference.

  • Haneen and Family

Haneen and her husband have two children, Joanna, age 6, and Yahya, age 3. Joanna was so excited to be a kindergartener last fall, and would be entering the first grade now if it were possible.

Haneen's home was damaged in a bombardment, and her family has been displaced several times. Without adequate shelter, clean water, and food, both young children are highly vulnerable to infectious disease which runs rampant due to crowded conditions and the targeted destruction of sanitation services.

We calculate that it takes at least $500/week to survive in Gaza. Our goal is to raise $2000 in monthly recurring donations.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Hiyam and Family

“I am Hiyam, 20 years old, and I live in Gaza City،Dear friends, and compassionate supporters,

I reach out to you today with a heavy heart and a request for help. This fundraising initiative aims to provide essential aid to myself and my family. I and my family are currently trapped in Gaza, a place torn apart by conflict and suffering. We face unimaginable hardships and danger on a daily basis, and I fear for my life and the lives of my family as violence and instability continue to escalate around me.

The situation in Gaza has become increasingly dire, with continuing conflict, economic instability and limited access to basic necessities. Tragedy has struck for myself and my extended family. We left the impact of the nearby explosions and were displaced twice from one place to another, and we moved each time in search of a safe place. But there was no safe place in Gaza. They claim that there are some safe places, but they lie, and the continuous bombing still threatens our lives, which leads to hunger, collective trauma, and disease.”

Your support can help Hiyam and family survive these unbearable circumstances; every donation makes a difference.

  • Mahmoud and Family

We’re calculated that the cost of living in Gaza is at least $500/week. We’ve set up this campaign with a goal of $24,000 - we are aiming for $2,000/month in recurring donations. That way, Mahmoud can count on something coming in and not have to fundraise online 24/7. Mahmoud has 3 sisters who he also helps support.

With your help, Narrow Bridge to Deir al Balah can reach this goal and continue the work we’ve set out to do in this campaign.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Mazen and Family

Mazen and his family are from Gaza, as of early July they had been displaced 7 times by this genocide, and bombs were being dropped near their tent. They are living in dire conditions, and prices for everything are skyrocketing. With the funds raised Mzen has been able to buy food and other necessities, and needs support to be able to continue to access these things for bare survival.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Mohammed and Family

Mohammed Abu Jaber is a kind, caring person living in Gaza trying to survive and support his parents through unimaginable circumstances. He had a successful business before October 2023; that has all been lost. Now, he is doing all he can to secure the basic necessities for his family. His parents are both sick, and while they cannot access the medicine they need right now, Mohammed is finding the best available alternatives to keep them as healthy as possible. He has connected the Narrow Bridge Collective to many of the other families on this list and is deeply community oriented; he cares for those around him however he can.

Since the ceasefire Mohammed has returned to where his farm used to be and seen the destruction, and is looking at what is needed to get it operating again, which is a great deal. There is still very little food available and only for very high prices.

Mohammed and his family had been receiving $500 a week, which was not truly enough to survive, but covered most of the costs of medicine for his parents and about one meal a day for each of them. This source of support ended in mid-January, and surviving without it while also navigating health crises has been an uphill struggle. Mohammed is using every tool he has to keep his family safe, and he needs our help.

We have a goal of raising $2000/month in recurring donations for Mohammed and his family. Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

  • Muhammad and Family

Hello, I am Muhammad from Gaza City. I live in Deir al-Balah

I need your help and solidarity with my family and children. My children suffer from panic and fear due to the intensity of the bombing and destruction that we are experiencing. We also suffer from a lack of food and the monopoly of markets. And the high prices in the markets. Here we are suffering from the destruction and bombing around us. The situation has not ended and there is no longer the possibility of obtaining basic necessities such as food, water and cooking gas.

Remember that you will be the reason for my family to survive and save them from the nightmare in which they live and reach safety before it is too late.

Your contribution and donation, even a small one, is a much-needed lifeline.

  • Nadia and Rayhan

Nadia and Rayhan were engaged before Oct 7, and initially planned to wait until the bombardment ended to have their dream wedding. However, as the months dragged on, they decide not to let he occupation determine their timeline. They were wed in a small ceremony in a tent. Since then, Nadia became pregnant and - against all odds - has carried the pregnancy into its third term! Being over 6 months pregnant with extremely limited medical options for birth is extremely vulnerable, even precarious.

Nadia has been able to find some prenatal treatment, including supplements to prevent anemia and other complications. This costs about $300-$400/week. In addition, she and Rayhan both need to eat and will soon need to start gathering resources like diapers and baby clothes as well as baby formula because Nadia will likely not have enough caloric intake to breastfeed. Surgery or other medical interventions that may be required at birth also present significant expenses.

We are setting a goal of $500/week or $2,000/month in recurring donations to support Nadia through the next months of pregnancy.

  • Nahil and Family

Hello, I am Nahil from Gaza City. I live in the city of Deir al-Balah. I tell you my story with passion and love. I hie you read it well. I studied the English language at the university and graduated. I used to give English lessons to school students, and I got married two months before October 7. I am in dire need of your help in getting me and my husband out of Gaza City because of the dangerous conditions and the genocide against us that we are being exposed to in Gaza City, and to find a safe place. My husband lost his job because of the war. We was working as a private driver, and because of the war and the interruption of gas and diesel, he hs not been able to find another job at this time.

I am reaching out to you with humility and a deep sense of gratitude, hopeful that your compassion will serve as a beacon of light in our darkest hours. Please consider making a donation to my family.

    With sincere appreciation, Nahil

  • Shada Mohammed

Shada Mohammed is a young woman and recent University graduate surviving harsh conditions in Central Gaza.

Her home was targeted in an airstrike, and, although she has been displaced multiple times, she has managed to keep some of her art supplies. She creates art from inspirational poems and quotes to keep herself motivated and hope for her future beyond this genocidal war. (A collection of Shada's art is available as a separate fundraiser from Narrow Bridge Candles!)

In addition to making art, Shada strives to continue her education. When she is not fundraising for basic needs, she studies Arabic, religion and mathematics in her tent. Before the war, she volunteered her time to work with children in the community.

Although she has so much promise, Shada is currently facing horrific conditions in the displacement camps. Food and medicine are expensive and scarce. Injuries, infections, and illnesses run rampant. She has already survived and recovered from a dangerous fever. Having enough money to eat regularly and access clean drinking water is essential.

Our goal is to raise $2000/month in recurring donations for Shada.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.
